Chirag United Kerala’s coach Packeer Ali believes that for him to stay motivated, he shall set his sights on the I-League title even though it may sound unrealistic from day one.
It’s only been a fortnight for the experienced coach in India and he has been working on his team’s problems upfront.
“I came and I saw that our players were missing goals even in training sessions. I spoke to the players and arranged for some local teams to play matches against. We have improved a bit I must add. I have a mix bag of experienced and young players who are impressive”
He hasn’t heard much about HAL SC but stated that it’s the Kolkata teams who are the ones to keep an eye on.
“I am new to Indian football and don’t know much about HAL. But I have heard that the Kolkata teams are strong.”
Packeer isn’t impressed with the ground conditions in Kerala though as he points that back home in Lanka, the fields are much better.
“The ground conditions are very bad here. Sri Lanka is much better in that regard. In India also, there are a few good fields though,” he mentioned.
