Virender Sehwag will be fit to face England in India's second World Cup Group B match on Sunday, despite suffering a minor rib injury in the nets on Friday.
India's dashing opener, who began the tournament by scoring a career-best 175 against Bangladesh last Sunday, was hit while batting during his team's practice.
The India team manager, Ranjib Biswal, described it as merely a "precautionary measure" that Sehwag took no further part in the nets session.
It was later confirmed he has suffered only minor bruising. His team-mate Yuvraj Singh, who took a blow to his hand in practice yesterday, has also been passed fit to take on England.
