Pearson crowned sprint queen

Sally Pearson's 100m gold in doubt after night of drama

Emotional . . . Sally Pearson anxiously awaits the jury's verdict that decided to upheld an appeal to disqualify her from the 100m.

Australia have lodged a counter-appeal after race winner Sally Pearson was disqualified for false-starting in the women's 100m final at the Commonwealth Games.

The drama began when English runner Laura Turner was disqualified for false-starting in the final, although it appeared that Pearson may have also jumped the gun.

Confusingly Turner was still allowed to run in the final once the field had been recalled, although she came last and was later officially disqualified.

Pearson was later sensationally stripped of her victory in dramatic scenes at the Delhi Games.
