Tintu Luka settles for silver in Belgium

India's young long-distance runner Tintu Luka came up with her season-best performance but had to settle for silver medal at the Flenders Cup in Leuven, Belgium on Sunday.

Luka finished second in the 800m with a timing of 2:01.75, her best effort of the season but missed the London Olympics qualifying 'B' standard of 2:01.30.

USA's Latavia Thomas won gold, clocking 2:01.57 while Canada's Bekkeau Karine came in behind Luka.
Having won gold at Karlstad and Amsterdam, the PT Usha-trained runner has already qualified for the World Championships to be held in Daegu, South Korea from August 27.

Among the other Indians in Belgium, Ghamanda Ram also finished second with a timing of 1:47.50 in the 800m event.
